Moose (or is that meese?)

Big, ungainly, and totally fascinating. Except when they think your birch tree is their very own buffet...

Great capture! I've never seen two bulls together before. I saw deer today, a buck and doe, down in the marsh. By the time I drew my camera and focussed, they sniffed me and ran into the woods. I followed them but they were too fast. Maybe next time.

@Robert: Robert, I have a shot from the same day of these two bulls with two cows!! My friend and I were both floored seeing them all together. Today I got a shot of some mulies down by the creek... hopefully they're post worthy.

Hahaha! I don't know if I would like them eating my trees either! But I love they way these guys look. They are creatures that look like they shouldn't exist but they do! Great capture Amy!!!

You got fairly close didn't you! It looks like the velvet is freshly off the antlers by the red tinge they have. Nice capture.

@Richard_Irwin: They are a wonder! Of all of the critters in the bush here, yeah, I'd say the moose is by far my favourite..... oddly graceful buggers!

All the moose that I have photographed seem to be losing hair and are unattractive. Not like those gorgeous feloows.

@Michael Rawluk: I shot these ones in the fall maybe that's why they seem so "well haired" LOL. But up there in PG there should tons of these fellows. You'll have better luck soon. ...and caribou... would love to get a decent shot of one those but we don't have them this far south. ;-)
