Under the leaf..

This macro stuff is so cool! Did you know that there isn't any real way to get a close up of a leaf that is only as big as your pinkie nail without getting on your belly? doing the down and dirty?! Ya baby, I was born for this!! I cropped this shot just a titch and I adjusted the midtones just to bring out the reds and russets.

@Art Monkey: Hey Art!! Thanks a bunch again.. and yes the gorillapod works with this like a dream. It's so versatile and flexible. I really don't know how I functioned without it... and I've only had it for 5 days!!!!

Gorgeous colors! Nice incoming light. Love the out of focus background. Just wish the top portion would have been in better focus. Great experimentation! Keep it up Amy!

@Craiger: Thanks Craiger! Yeah, the top of that leaf bugged me too but it didn't look right cropped out. And in order to get the depth I wanted for the veins on the leaf the top had to be sacrificed. Hopefully, more experimentation will help me get around that. Your encouragement means a lot.. ;-)

Getting down and dirty was exactly why I asked my son if he could give me his old outdated, camo uniforms. They are great for this kind of work. I need to get some knee pads from Home Depot though. I hate when I inadvertently kneel on a rock...OUCH!!!

This is really nice.
