Moment's Respite

I took this shot a couple summers ago. It's one of my favourites as you don't often see the hummingbird sitting still. This little guy was keeping a watchful eye on what he thought was his feeder. They're extremely territorial and will fight to the death over their territories. We've sat on our deck watching them go at each other and it's quite something to see.

Good shot Amy, you forgot the tripod again. :) I can see you are slowly creeping in near the subjects hehehe.... Am shooting some macros right tomorrow. The fashion series ends tonight, so i guess i shall jump into macro next lolz....

@Rahul: Now Rahul, you can't use a tripod when trying to shoot hummingbirds... whether they're at rest or not. They fly off far too quickly. ;-) But glad you liked the shot!! Did you get a macro lens then?

This is first shot I've ever seen (film and photo) of a hummingbird sitting stock still! Great timing and focus!

Amazing capture Amy!! I too have never seen a hummingbird sitting still!! Just beautiful.

Sorry for not stopping by yesterday...I pushed a little too hard after my mouth work and it caught up with me yesterday.

Nah, amy didnt get the macro lens, though i got a 4X filter. Will be posting some pseudo macros soon. ;-) Watch out hahaha.... now i am gonna tempt you, and tempt you real hard. LOL

Oooouuccchhhh i didnt use the tripod today LOLZ... but then as i said they are pseudo macros, just to tempt you my dear Amy ;-) Look out for the new season of macro series on plants and flowers, starting tomorrow hahah... That sounds like desperate housewives Lolz...

Come on that'e not teasing pal, its just tempting eachother LOL, and i bet you love to be tempted too ;-), probably every straight human would hahaha...

And, i prefer not to be serious other than work and profession, the rest i would rather prefer to be on lighter side of life. After all you only live once, or is it twice (007).... Cat has nine lives though, lucky little fellas... LOL

Ok ok my "Colors of Life" series is up, and you shall see how slowly i approach near the subject, before leaving you all flat with a breath taking macro at the end :0) (Hahaha... too bad dear cant post too many macros as i still dont have macro lens, and it really takes time to produce a macro alike, with 4X zoom filter) Poor me. :-( Oh btw, i like you too for being able to take my sense of humor, which is kinda wierd though LOLz. But guess we are on same page always and thats wonderful. :)
