Lonely

In celebration of the snow we've had for the past couple days, I thought a shot of a lone tree bowed beneath the weight of heavy spring snow would be appropriate. Plus, I happen to really like this shot.

Splendid shot Amy! I thought of you when I saw the weather in your area on the news. You see, for the past week, my daughter has been visiting some of her ex-inlaws in the Rocky Mountain House area with whom she is great friends. She is back today and told me that the snow was the heavy wet kind (not powder) typical of snow in Alberta in late spring. This is pretty - you should use it for the background for a Christmas Card at the end of the year. : )

@DTW: Hello DTW. We got about 2-3 inches. Fortunately, this time of year it melts fairly quickly as the sun is higher etc. It just gets a little depressing to keep seeing the white stuff when you know it's supposed to be spring. ;-) Thanks for the visit and comment!!

I like it too, very nicely capture and kinda dreamy. :) The desaturation really made it extra special. Great work. BRAVO!!

@Rahul: Hey Rahul!! Thanks so much. But I don't really desaturate... I convert to black and white in PS Elements 5 then I go to PS and work with it. The desaturate in PS doesn't give me the lattitude I want yet as I'm still not very adept at it's workings. ;-)

@Art Monkey: Hey Art!! The snow's almost all gone and we're actually starting to have spring-like weather... shhhh... don't tell mother nature.. I took this shot mid-morning (maybe around 10am). ;-)

Great shot! Kind of reminds me of Charlie Brown's chirstmas tree! (I feel sorry for this tree the way you have photographed it!) and I can't believe you still have snow...
