Prairie Creek

This is a small part of the creek behind my house. We had a few days of rain which caused the creek to swell greatly... not over the banks but fairly close.

You can view my gallery of images and calendar for sale at: cute but stupid . I'm slowly adding more to the site and if there is something in my portfolio you would like to purchase but is not available on my site just contact me and I'll make it available.

@Sidonie: Hi Sidonie! Spring has finally sprung! The trees are almost green and there's only snow on on northern exposures. Bliss!!!! No worries, eh! With all the new members and the amazing photography on Am3 it's so hard to keep up!! It's damn near a full time job in and of itself!! ;-D

Good captured shot! It seems to be rapid and dangerous. Is it in effect?

@Alexandra: Hello Alexandra! It was very rapid and dangerous. The creek was at almost full flood. I used a slow shutter speed to try to convey the speed of the flow. The only pp work I did was to convert the image to b/w. ;-)

@Jen: Hey Jen!! Yeah, the water was raging!! And with all the fallen trees being pushed downstream it was quite the sight. The creek was up about 4ft I'd guess... but now it's down to it's almost usual low flow.

This weekend is your big day, eh!?! And that's all I'm going to say now. ;-)

that looks frighteningly dangerous, in a sense it's kinda eeire but the more i look at it, it's almost serene. i can't make my mind up with this picture, and that is a compliment. :)
