Sunset's glowPosted by amy (Nanaimo, BC, Canada) on 29 August 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This was taken at sunset facing east of Postill Lake (remember that lake 5000ft up on top of a mountain?). I just loved the glow on the trees. You can view my gallery of images and calendar for sale at: cute but stupid . I'm slowly adding more to the site and if there is something in my portfolio you would like to purchase but is not available on my site just contact me and I'll make it available. I appreciate all visits and comments and thank you always... ;-)

Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaBeautiful balance in the shot. The heavy sky helps to define the photoggraph. 29 Aug 2007 5:25am @Michael Rawluk: Thank you Michael... that's a great critique! Lost Valley from Kamloops, BC, CanadaA very crisp and clean shot!! Yes there is a glow on the trees!!! 29 Aug 2007 5:46am @Lost Valley: Hey there LV!! I tried to change the colour on this a wee bit to show that the trees are actually green but it just wasn't right... the trees looked like this in that sunset glow so I decided Mother Nature was right yet again. Thanks so much!! @Andrew Gould: Thank you Andrew! Really appreciate the visit and comment!!! @Kaushal: Aw shucks... THANKS Kaushal!! @Paulo: Thanks so much Paulo!! @John: Thank you.. I like that; "Powerful yet subtle". ;-) Stu from Kyoto, JapanOoh and it's gone for a 6!!! What a beauty. Superb contrast here Amy. You've captured the subtle tones of the clouds so well. Great juxtaposition here. Little bit of Mr Orton goin on?! If so....it's worked a treat! 29 Aug 2007 12:39pm @Stu: Yep, a little bit of Mr Orton.. needed to punch it up a bit just as you said for the clouds. Been seriously thinking about getting that Photomatix too... hmmmm.. Thanks Stu!! @Craiger: Thanks Craig!! So appreciate that ;-) @Daniel: Thank you so much! ;-) Erik from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsMy favorite subject topic, greatly accomplished! 29 Aug 2007 2:12pm @Erik: Wow! Thank you!!! ;-) Walt from Scarborough, CanadaFabulous reflections - I love that even the shadow is reflected here... 29 Aug 2007 4:21pm @Walt: Thank you so much Walt!! This lake was so incredible... it was like a teenage girl with all the moods involved. One minute it was as smooth as glass and calm (like when a teenage girl is sleeping), the next totally tempetuous (as a teenage girl in love). LOL Jens from Freudenberg, GermanyVery nice reflexion in the water. The picture receives, in addition, room by the stones in the foreground. 29 Aug 2007 6:31pm @Jens: Thank you Jens!!! bronzebilly u.k. from cardiff, United Kingdomyo cutesie--ace stuff again--it's got the lot--foreground interest--mid third super dooper colour--and a sky to die for--top result for no.1--billy 29 Aug 2007 10:55pm @bronzebilly u.k.: I'M NUMBER 1! Provoking perfection!! Humbly honored. Sean Bailey from Phoenixville, United StatesGorgeous! I wonder what Sashmo has on their mind. 1 Sep 2007 12:27am @Sean Bailey: Thanks Sean!!! I downloaded that Photomatix... wee bit of a learning curve.... hate to read instructions so have to frustrate myself for awhile trying to figure it out.... then one day I will sit down with bloody forehead and read the manual and go "Ohhh, that's why I need to that!" Sash is teasing me because I used "clattering cacophony" in a description with one of my posts.. Zen.. So now we're playing the game of alliteration. LOL Dave MacIntyre from Toronto, CanadaBreathtaking scenery. That is my kinda heaven. 4 Sep 2007 2:01am @Dave MacIntyre: You really had a good look at my site!! LOL Thanks Dave... ;-) |
