This was, I assume, part of a larger boom on Postill Lake. It has long been forgotten and left to bleach in the sun. I did use some different kind of tricks on this... sort-of the Orton but not truly. When I applied the duplicate image I changed the colour channel in the source as well as the blending mode (which I set to multiply instead of screen) and then inverted the colour channel in the blending mode. Then I did the usual gaussian blur and moved this image to the "normal" one.

Wicked job on this!! I like the lonngggg feel to the log!!! The softeness to it gives a different perspective...and look at the daisy!! So perfectly positioned!!! Great photo!!

You lost me after 'different kind of tricks on this...' But then I returned to the land of the known (knowing?) when I looked up again and rekindled my captivation for what lay before me.

Rekindled is an odd word, is it not? Having stated that, it's not half as odd as kindled. My theory begins thusly:

'Whatcha doin', Pa?'
'Oh, ah iz just kindlin', Skeeter.'
'Cool, Pa. I kindled for a wee while yestdee, but ah din finish me kindlin'.'

There is such amazing depth in this one Amy. The DOF is just right for the shot, and the processing adds an interesting feel to it. Echo Michael too about the daisy there, it was one of the first things I noticed and sets of the rest of the pic. Very nice indeed.
