Sashimi Bhoy from Adelaide, City of Churches and Cafes, AustraliaCounteracting the domination of gravity. Byooty! 19 Sep 2007 5:05am @Sashimi Bhoy: Glad you like it!! And love how you phrase it!! @Manuela Photography: Thanks Manuela!! And I didn't have to pull out too many thistles, either!! LOL @Craiger: Love it when you give me the "Awesome" !!! Thanks Craig! Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesAre these floating, or do you have them on a whitish surface? It's a great image either way Amy. 19 Sep 2007 10:26am @Viewfinder: Hey Viewfinder!! Yes, these are just floating/attached to the plant still. I had to get down on hands and knees and point the camera upwards to get this angle. (which was a challenge in and of itself LOL) I do have another shot almost identical to this one but I managed to get the subtle hues of the sky in it. I had a hard time deciding between the two as to which to post. Thanks so much Viewfinder!!! Always so appreciate your visits and comments.. and I'm also glad you liked Roberta's tipi's!! @Organik: Thank you so much Organik!! But your lotus flower yesterday was so absolutely gorgeous!!! Lost Valley Views from CanadaOh!!! This is sooo beautiful-so light and oh so airy! 19 Sep 2007 11:43am @Lost Valley Views: Thank you thank you thank you!! When I saw this thistle-down just hanging with not a breath of wind I just sucked it up and waded into the thistle patch! LOL @Josh: Thanks Josh!! @Carson: Thank you Carson!! ;-) jen from Alpharetta, United StatesWOW!!!! Amy this is absolutely gorgeous Dahling (really)!!! 19 Sep 2007 1:15pm @jen: How did I take this?? Very carefully, let me tell you!!! These delicate thistle seeds were hanging from the main bud(?) in the middle of a thistle patch. So I had to get down on hands and knees (story of my life, eh?!) to try and crank the camera to the right angle on that stupid tripod of mine. I used my remote so that I wouldn't topple over the tripod/camera as the footing wasn't exactly stable. I do have another shot almost exactly the same but I caught the sky colours in it. I had a hard time deciding on which to post.. maybe I'll post the other sometime.. But I have to admit I did do the happy-joy-joy dance when I saw this on my computer!! And after my long monologue... Thank you my soul sista!!! Still have your eyes in my head from yesterday's post, too. (Wow, that sounds weird..) LOL @yiannis krikis: Strange in what way yiannis? Strange good? or strange different because of the juxaposition? Just need to understand so I can improve if need be.. ;-) I always so appreciate your comments. @MaryB: That's a great compliment from the amazing tiger lady!!! Thank you. Nick Passantino from Bronx, United Statesreally gorgeous.. could see it framed on a wall. great work. 20 Sep 2007 5:27am @Nick Passantino: You know, I'm thinking I'm actually going to do that.. Thanks bunches!! Erik from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsLight and airy indeed, how did you manage this, with a glass plate? 20 Sep 2007 8:12am @Erik: Hey Erik! No glass plate.. these seeds (thistle down) were all hanging onto each other from the mother plant, if you will. They're quite sticky... they have like little barbs that cling to anything including themselves so they were just hanging there exactly as you see them. I was so lucky there wasn't even a light breeze. Thanks for stopping by!! Dave MacIntyre from Toronto, CanadaRe: Kansas's "Dust In The Wind"....VERY applicable! :) 21 Sep 2007 4:38am kaushal from Groningen, NetherlandsWOw, this is excellent! i agree with Nick! would look really nice! 21 Sep 2007 11:08am @kaushal: Thanks Kaushal!!!
