...she recreated the mountains not as she had originally seen them but as she eventually chose to perceive them, not only a capacity to observe the world but a capacity to alter his or her observation of it---which, in the end, is the capacity to alter the world, itself. Those people who recognise that imagination is reality's master, we call "sages," and those who act upon it, we call "artists."

@Jen: I hate pictures of myself (as most of us do) so this was a compromise.... Dan picked it....after I'd taken like a couple dozen frames.. LOL
You know (bear with me as I get philosophical here) the world is such a big place but yet so small in that there are similarities with the people we know and love with those we haven't even met or know... does that make sense? Why do we let imaginary lines divide us? No one is better or worse than anybody... just different. Ok, that's it for my study of the conundrums of life. See? Another connection. And I think it's way cool that I resemble your cousin (my self deprecating side thinks "poor girl to resemble me" and hopes she doesn't have my nose LOL).
@Roberta: Wish they were. A friend of mine gave them to me when we were discussing purists and the rest of us. Not sure who spoke them first but I may be using that quote a lot from now on.
