Took me longer to figure out how to spell this than it did to take it LOL!!

TGIF kids!!! Stay warm. It's supposed to be a very cold weekend here with highs of -18C. I think I'm staying in and hibernating!!

I was on site yesterday and I was able to eat lunch sittng outside the pub, the weather is that nice at the mo! Somehow I prefer it to what you've got going on Amy. Nice shot!

That is nice! I have a question tho', how close are you to your subject and what kind of lens are you using? Just curious because I want do to some nice close up shots and I am close to investing in a macro lens.

@Laurie: For this shot I was using my 70-300mm zoom. I was about 5ft away from the subject. It works pretty good doing "macros" in this way but you don't necessarily get the details you really want. I have a 60mm micro lens for the shots I want to get the details. I did take some with the 60mm on this little expedition but because of the lighting and awkward positions those shots didn't turn out worth crap. I highly recommend buying a macro... wish I'd done it years ago.

Now don't hit me but for some strange reason these stick-sicles remind me of children with runny noses in the winter! Not sure what that says about me.....but nice shot.

Heh, this is gorgeous, but I can’t help but say I’m inclined to agree with Roberta here. This does somehow remind me of little ones’ runny noses (in particular, one almost-2-year-old little one I know too well! ;) ). But, again, I do love the detail and focus here. It is gorgeous!!

Oh jeez! Glad we don't get this stuff very often around Atlanta. Last time, I froze my buns off trying to get a few shots. But thankfully, it's going into the 70's here this weekend, so maybe I'll turn my fan to blow some heat toward you'se guys. Stay warm, for sure!

@Dang: Ok, so I have to comment... You FROZE your butt???? Oh you sissy sun belt livers!! Come on up to the Great White North and experience cold! LOL (she says really wishing she weren't the poor sap living in the cold Great White North LOL) I'd sure appreciate that fan pointed this way... maybe melt some of the white stuff too... ;-) Truly thanks Dang!!

Laffin'... I spent a winter in, and around Toronto one year and whew! But when it finally warmed to around freezing, I was walking around in T's. I think you get use to it more as winter goes along, but when it first starts with the ice, jeez... coldest I've ever been in my life. There's some beautiful country though, so it's a toss-up. I think I'd still trade the cold for the dirty concrete and asphalt around this dump. Atlanta's not what it use to be! Just think, you'll have such a great Spring. ;-)
Now think I'd better shuddup'. I've pushed enough hot air up your way for one day. lol
