Holy criminey kids... it's December 1st!!

You've got an eye for these long zooms and short height edits, Amy. I feel the cold in there. We are just reaching zero here, but that's fairly cold weather for my hometown fellas.
I've been so away from the community, making a comment few days. I missed so many shots of you I guess, but I'm just going through them!

I don't know how you keep up such a consistently high standard of photography Amy - this is much more than a photo of some birds on a branch. Does it remind you too of a traditional Chinese painting - this has some of the same simplicity and graphic quality that I love so much in that style of art.

Great shot nicely cut... Is your 400mm stabilized? and by the way have you an idea how those birds are called? "yellow tailed?" ;-) ...

@LaPierre: No my zoom isn't stabilized. I apparently have a steady hand... I couldn't believe how these shots turned out when I saw them on the computer. I thought they'd be a bit shakey. These birds are called Cedar Wax Wings.. no yellow tail in their name. We have two types of wax wings: these ones and one called Bohemian Wax Wing. Both types have these yellow tipped tails. Thanks, eh.

Oh wait.....now that I clear the icicles out of my head I remember that I had my wide angle lens on when I saw the birds. And now that I've read the comments I have to agree about the Chinese painting aspect.

@bronzebilly u.k.: No colourising billybuddy. That's just the way the cedar wax wing looks. They're all drab grey 'till you get to the tail... you know there's a joke there but I think I'll let that one go ... hee hee hee... And yes I am jealous of your weather!!!! brrrrrrrrrrr amyfrigid (which also another joke... hee hee hee... I'm trying to be polite... HAH!)
