I've sent my old laptop off to the warranty people and now must wait for the replacement. I'm hoping that I'll have the new one in about 10 days... 'till then I still don't have all my old images as when I had the tech do the "mirror" which is actually just a backup (as I now know) there was 17 gigs worth of images. So instead of trying to get all that on a couple discs, the tech offered to "store" it until I get the replacement and then they'll do a data transfer for me. They're so great at this shop I go to. They're even cutting me a deal because of how this all turned into such a cluster. So until I get my stuff back I'm digging through what I did manage to save myself (and how long can this monologue go on?? LOL). I took this last May when I'd gotten my new macro/micro lens. Didn't think it was all that great back then but now that I've revisited it (out of desperation for a post) I decided it wasn't all that bad after all!! LOL
Thanks for all the comments on my "eclipse" post yesterday. I think the ghost image was either from condensation as I had gone into the house at one point to warm up me and the camera or maybe some light reflecting through the viewfinder (thanks Roberta).
Just tell me what you think. I'm a big girl.... I won't cry for long. ;-)

Amy, this is a beautiful macro. It's a real bummer having computer problems and I hope yours are resolved soon.

This is very cool Amy . It looks like a bug with really big eyes. I feel your pain with the computer. Mine has been in the shop going on 3 months. They have sent it away twice and They just called today and said I should have it by end of next week. I'll believe it when I see it. Thanks for sharing your woes and letting me vent.

Very nice macro indeed!

What I like about this shot is the reflection of the surroundings in the top droplet – you can see what appear to be trees and the sun in the distance. Very nice image within an image. Weighing in on the laptop woes: let me just offer this little ray of sunshine … my work colleague sent her laptop in under warranty and had it back in her possession within four days. Here's to a quick resolution!

Not bad at all... It's strange how all those old shots one might overlook turn out to be pretty darn good... I use my photo library for a screensaver and often stop short wondering just why I had overlooked some photos... Then I have to try to find them... :-)

These look like tiny crystal pearls. Beautiful small world shot, well worth saving (and seeing here) I'd say. As for your computer saga, you are certainly patient and persistent. I'd have chunked it and bought a new one a long time ago -- but then you've got all those photo files and those would definitely be worth keeping (a good lesson to me also for mine). I didn't know they could be stored -- I guess that means they have an external hard drive with mega-gig memory if yours are 17 gigs. Am thinking more and more about that external hard drive idea for my home computer.
Love the drops Amy!

I hope you are able to get things back in order soon. I know how frustrating that must be. You have reminded me that I need to back up some stuff.
This is a cool macro.

It's not that bad at all Amy! In fact it is a splendid macro! The two globes did give an illusion of two enormous eyes at first - really nicely composed and shot!
Glad to hear you have such a good 'tech' shop! It was going to cost me a fortune once when things went badly wrong to have them format my XP drive and save all my files - but I was able to do the repair thingy with my XP disc and then learned how to re-install it myself after saving all m precious stuff! So really glad they are being good to you! ;-)

Fantastic shot Amy!....if you don't mind me asking, which lens do you use for these macro shots?...they're really great!

@Ian Bramham: I have a Nikon 60mm micro is use for these major close ups. I do love my micro (which I do call a macro) because I can get such amazing details..I do sometimes use my 70-300mm for pseudo macros but you have to stand a good 6ft away and don't get the same details... but can get some cool shots.
Oh, this is FANTASTIC! Wow!
