Am still digging in the "archives" and found this one. I did post one similar to this last July-ish but decided this one was post worthy, too. This is another shot as is out of the camera and just JPEG-ed for posting.. no other processing. I have also come to realize that some of my images were not transferred. My fault I fear as I forgot to tell Matt that there were images filed under Adobe as well as My Pictures. CRAP!!! Those were shots of our last trip to NZ. I am fairly heartbroken. Can you hear my sobbing?? Listen friends, ya gotta back-up your stuff!!! NOW!!!
Just tell me what you think. I'm a big girl.... I won't cry for long. ;-)

I've lost photo's too in the past (of Venice and Italy) so I really should take more time to back up everything, thanks for the reminder. A beautiful macro shot Amy.

Amen to the backup suggestion! I have a backup but when my system went down last weekend I had a scare that my backup wasn't good. I'm going to start copying my images to DVD or CD Rom as well. A wonderful shot you've got here Amy!

I'll join the Amen chorus, as well! Scott Kelby (author of many books, including the Adobe Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers) suggests a backup to an external drive and then archiving on DVD. He suggests that you don't delete the files from your camera's card until you've verified that you have the images in two separate locations. Your shot today almost looks as if IT – the flower – is emitting the light. Very nice.

Oh you poor thing, I'd be heart-broken too, I find Picasa very useful as it takes photos from everywhre on your computer and keeps it in one place...so sorry, this is beautiful and very emotional, i feel for you :)

I'd be crushed if I'd lost my NZ pix. Come to think of it, my NZ pix aren't on my computer either. Oh... I've never been to NZ, so there were none. Phew! That's a relief. But you have, and I feel your pain. Really do. Is there any way to go back and retrieve a second time?

Very nice, I love the color. This shot could almost be filed under abstract.

Sorry to hear you lost some photos. I back up to dc/dvd's and an external HD fairly often.

You have really some beautiful light flowing through this one, and the movement through its shape is gorgeous. Bad luck on losing some images, I do that all the time, but keep stumbling on ones I lost years ago when clearing other stuff up. I think its much easier to lose digital files, what you need is a big external HD to stick everything in.
