on ice..

I posted a similar image of this little frog last year but that one was a full image of him whereas this one is a little tighter. I'm still digging around in my old stuff as I haven't had time/opportunity to get out. Nor have I been able to keep up with Am3 either because of what's been going on around my homestead. We've got our house on the market to sell. Yes, we will be moving out to Vancouver Island hopefully sometime in May or early June. As it stands right now we have a conditional sale of our house. THAT'S what's been keeping me out of the loop. I'm hoping I haven't totally jinxed us by announcing this all now but I just can't help it... I'm over the moon excited!!! LOL So please just bear with me a bit longer. I'm really hoping for a bit of down time this weekend... ;-)

I feel for you, our place is on the market too, but so far no nibbles. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Incredible picture of the frog. Love how the eye takes on the color of his head right down to the stripe. Good capture Amy.

@Michael Rawluk: LOL That's a great way to put it... and I'm hoping regular programming will resume very soon!! We're moving out to Nanaimo. I think it's just the perfect little city.

Congrats on your conditional sale. I'd be really excited too.

But speaking of this image, I'd love to know more of the story of this frog on ice. Are Canadian frogs really this hardy, or does it end badly for this poor amphibian?

@Viewfinder: Hey thanks so much VF!! As to the frog... I don't think it ended badly for him. The sun had been shining on him so once he warmed up a bit he should've moved on. But our frogs are quite hardy beasties and usually go into like a suspended animation state when they burrow down in the mud and it freezes.

Truly congrats and all the very best with the move! Absolutely fantabulous capture of this fella. The juxtaposition of his tones and textures with the icy environment is especially superlative, imho!
