Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaNice macro, great dew drops. Is this blooming in your garden now or was this from last year? 12 Apr 2008 6:24am @Marion: It's from last year... about the middle of June. I was in a hurry to post so didn't do my usual explaination. Out here in the toolies, if the deer don't get them first, then you can expect them to bloom early to mid June. In town they'll bloom sooner. But at least the weather is warming up now and the buyers are starting to come out. Hopefully, this bodes well for the buyers of our place and they can finally get their house sold!!! Lorraine from Gatineau, Canadaahhh there I saw the two lips, beautiful, ghostly and endearing, now dry your tears ;0 12 Apr 2008 9:04am @Lorraine: You are such a great blog friend, Lorraine. Thank you always for your support, encouragement, and constant humor!!! You are a sweetie. Anne from White Rock, CanadaWonderful macro Amy! This has to be taken last Spring or indoors if a new one. Ours are only just beginning to open and its been a darned sight warmer than there - even though I moan about rain and damp! The light picking up the water droplets is marvellous! ;-) 12 Apr 2008 9:09am @Anne: Thanks Anne! No, it's not from this year but from last. If the deer don't get them first they usually bloom sometime into June... well, at least out here in the toolies. In town, they bloom sooner. However, I was working in the yard today and they are coming up already!! Can't believe it. zOOm from Paris, FranceGreat macro Amy ! A beautiful red tulip, and the droplets are sharp and shiny... 12 Apr 2008 9:25am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesIntensely passionate ... beautiful light and a luscious background! 12 Apr 2008 9:30am Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesThe red is well done (red is tough and AM3 tends not to like it when it posts). I love water droplets on plants. (I just started a series with droplets on my blog(s)) I like the way the light touches the top. I might suggest using a reflector (anything white) to add some fill at the bottom of the flower while still maintaining the more intense light at the top. The Bokeh is beautiful. 12 Apr 2008 11:57am @Laurie: Thank you soooo much for that Laurie. It's very good advice. My D300 is waiting for me to pick it up... unfortunately that won't be until the 26th when we'll be heading down to Calgary. Can't wait!! drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomMmmm! Nice! I like the beads of water rolling down the right side. I can't find where you've focussed but it kind of has a dream like quality for that reason. Dan 12 Apr 2008 12:51pm @drphoto: I was focusing more on the droplets. However, this was also when I was still using the auto focus instead of trusting my own eyes.... and hand holding all the time, too. Thanks Dan!! Always appreciate your feedback. Gary from Cochise County, United StatesI'm a softie when it comes to tulips. This is just wonderful to look at. It is immediatly calming. 12 Apr 2008 2:36pm Betsy Barron from Glenmoore, United StatesGreat detail in the water drops & lovely bokeh - but I agree with Laurie, as an image overall, the darker 2/3 pulls my eye down 12 Apr 2008 2:55pm @Betsy Barron: Thanks Betsy! I really appreciate the honest feedback. ;-) yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecewow - excellent colors and fresh feeling - great work 12 Apr 2008 3:52pm John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesStunning shot. Really like the lighting and the red here. Very well composed image. 12 Apr 2008 6:55pm paulski from Muncie, IN, United Statesbeautiful macro; personally, i like the splash of sunlight at the top of the frame. well done... 12 Apr 2008 8:13pm Nick Passantino from Bronx, United Statesgreat color in this one amy. i like the way you've framed it. 12 Apr 2008 9:35pm @Michael Rawluk: Don't mean to... but wouldn't you?! LOL I wasn't going to say anything at all.... but hell, it's a D300!!!! Sometimes I'm spoiled, too... ;-) |
