the flakePosted by amy (Nanaimo, BC, Canada) on 23 April 2008 in Plant & Nature. I ventured out into the elements on Saturday to go down to the creek and pond. This was the only pussy willow I could find that the moose hadn't eaten. And believe me there are a lot of willows down there. I couldn't believe how far down the branches they've grazed. How do I know it's moose, you ask? Weeelll, moose love to chow down on willows and the height of the trees that have been nibbled down are very high... and of course they're droppings... ahem.. Anyways, for all my trouble of slogging through deep snow with melted water under all of it, this was all that was left of the pussy willows with one lonely snow flake perched precariously. The sun finally came out yesterday afternoon and the wind died down later. It looks like this last blast of Old Man Winter is finally done. Can't say I remember EVER having a storm like this so late in April. They even closed our office for the day because of the extreme poor conditions of the roads. There were even times we couldn't see across our road because of the blowing snow. Ok, guess I'm showing my Canadian roots here going on ad nauseam about the weather. LOL!! But next it'll be mosquito season... now THAT'S something to look forward to!! LMAO!! You can view my gallery of images and calendar for sale at: cute but stupid . I'm slowly adding more to the site and if there is something in my portfolio you would like to purchase but is not available on my site just contact me and I'll make it available. I appreciate all visits and comments and thank you always... ;-)
