the raven

Not trying to be Poe-ish at all here. It's just that on Sunday a couple ravens were actually sitting in one of the poplars in front of my house. I have never seen a raven sit in one of those trees in all the years I've been here (12). In fact, I don't recall ever seeing any of the ravens taking a breather in our yard. They fly over a lot so low I can hear the wind whistle through their wings (which is absolute magic) but they've never stopped for a visit. So there I was with camera in hand shooting through the slats of the blinds trying to get a shot before they flew away. The thing I like the best about this shot is that you can see the snow on his back.
