This one is from my day out with Roberta. This new camera of mine just keeps on impressing me. I have NEVER gotten any bird shot as clean and as sharp as this one with my D70. I'm in awe. This shot has 3 different birds in it that I can identify; there's a Greater White-Fronted Goose (the one with the really orange legs), the ubiquitous Canada Goose, and a Northern Pintail. It's really best viewed large.
Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments on my "feeling" post yesterday. It's actually a banjo that Brandi (Sidney York) is playing.
And now for my daily whine... anybody got any cheese for this?? LOL Still catching up. I've got my fingers crossed for this weekend to truly get my poop in a group. Then again "..best laid plans of mice and men".. LOL!!!
Just tell me what you think. I'm a big girl.... I won't cry for long. ;-)

This is pretty impressive amy. And I'd just think they were all Canadian geese.

Nice shot Amy! Those cranes we heard were flying, and they were huge flocks. Someone else reported seeing them east of Edmonton a little later than when we heard them. Same day someone in a small plane spotted 4 Whooping cranes flying just east of Beaverhill Lake. That would have been awesome to see!

A wonderful shot Amy. I too am impressed with your new camera. This shot should be featured in one of our Canadian magazines like Westworld or Oh Canada.

I like how this shot breaks up...the water and grass on different planes.

This is a P E R F E C T capture Amy! I am so jealous of that camera that I could Spit too! I tried out a D200 that they had dropped in price when the D300 came in. But I still didn't have enough funds to get it - and so much just keeps cropping up that costs money! I didn't even ask how much the D300 was! !!!!???!!! I think it is way beyond a pensioner like me. By the time I have saved up enough they will have brought out two newer models. I think my daughter would kill me if I spent that much - you know!! The daughter becomes the parent eventually!! Hope you are catching up on your rest - because it all sounds so hectic!

@Anne: I sold one of the cats to buy it... LMAO!!! It was on sale, though. And my husband realizes that this is my passion as are his cars. But in getting ready for the move we sold some stuff that allowed me this extravagance. My rest will come after my last day at the office which is May 30th... I've been marking big X's on my calendar at work.. hee hee hee. Thank you Anne!
Beautiful picture... Has action , lovely colors and i like the lines created by the water and grass...

@Betsy Barron: Thanks Betsy!
LOL!! I've got more but they're a little more potty mouth types so don't share them here... which is too bad as they're hilarious!
Wow! infact it's a BIG wow! this is fantastic Amy, I'm having soooooo much trouble catching birds in filght with my cam atm that I've enrolled in a Digi photography class lol, it looks great fun, it teaches PS too and it's all free which is a double bonus, :) Bravo hun, this is a fine shot.
