I've been a very busy girl. With the warm weather it was time to get out in the yard and get some work done. Had a wedding do to go to, which was a blast! And just needed to be outside in the warm weather. (ok, there may have been a bit of a hangover involved) Plus the conditional sale on our house has fallen through so I needed some time to pout... but am now ready to start this process over again. So whilst I was doing my yard work I discovered this nest and egg on the ground under a decorative sundial I have in a flower bed. Yes, this nest is UNDER the sundial (as I have it leaning against the edge of said flower bed). I had picked up the sundial so I could weed around it. I picked it up without noticing this nest as I was just moving it out of my way also thinking to put it somewhere else more aesthetically pleasing. It wasn't until I was down on all fours digging around that I noticed it. Sat back on my heals in wonder and awe, wondered what kind of bird (does anyone know???), then quickly ran into the house for the camera. And yes I did try to place the sundial back exactly as it was. I truly hope I didn't inadvertently disturb this to the point where the parents don't resume their quest.

I've set up a site to sell some of my images on RedBubble. As soon as I figure out how to get a link here I'll get one in until then just copy paste the above address if you're interested ;-) and I'm hoping you are.

This is a fabulous capture and find Amy, beautiful work by both yourself and mr and mrs bird. I'm really sorry to hear that your house sale has fallen through :( I've been there too, it's so frustrating. Hope you soon find a buyer.

nice 'simple' shot with an interesting shallow deep of field effect - good choice of framing! i guess you'll just have to wait to see what comes out of it...

Just love this one Amy, the egg and the framing are just so lovely. Well apparently my realtor is right, the market is soft now. We are going to end up with two mortgage payments. Oh joy. I hope you get a buyer soon and me too.

Beautifully done. I love the texture I feel jumping out of this image - the smooth egg, the hair like nest interior... gorgeous! The framing really makes it pop, too!
