...and then there were three

Well, actually four eggs now, but it's raining and I can't get the shot. I feel like a proud Auntie! LOL!! The sundial keeps on sliding down onto the nest and eggs because of the rain and mud. How do I know this you ask? Weeelll, yesterday morning as I was setting out some flower baskets that I had put away for the night in fear of frost, I noticed that the sundial was "resting" on top of the nest. Worried that it had crushed the eggs I quickly lifted the sundial off bracing myself for the sight of some crushed eggs. However, what I got instead was the Mama bird flattened beneath the sundial on her eggs. I think it scared the crap out of both of us! LOL Anyways, she flew off with me apologizing profusely and hoping she'll return. So after work, Mr amy and I cut up some copper tubing to hammer into the ground to hold the sundial propped up so it won't slip on the mud down on the nest anymore. Got my fingers crossed that in a few days there will be new little babies to photograph... after all, I think the Mama and me are pretty tight now. LOL!!!
