in the forest..

Yesterday I went to Newcastle Island. It's just a short ferry ride (foot traffic) across the harbour. The whole island is a marine park. To say it's beautiful doesn't do it justice. It's a great place to have picnics with the family, hike, swim, wander aimlessly (I took that activity very seriously), or just plain chillax. I will definitely be returning there as I didn't get around the whole island (about a 2 hour walk). I watched eagles flying around screaming at each other (my shots are crap... was having issues with my auto focus), watched the oyster catchers digging around in the sea weed, watched the sail boats skim by, the kayakers paddle by... you get the picture. But for the most part I contemplated my navel and let the world rush by. It was bliss.
