gulls' echo lPosted by amy (Nanaimo, BC, Canada) on 28 July 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. This is such an amazing place for support in any way shape or form. The stress is lessening here. Dan has been here for over a week now but will be heading back to what I now call the homestead (Rocky) on Wednesday. Then it'll be 3 weeks again until he can come back out. I think I'm better equipped emotionally this time to deal with his absence. The cats have been the biggest stress inducer since we go here. They have not been settling and fighting terribly. We're now in the midst of trying to resolve this problem.... with assistance from a vet. Who'da thunk 3 cats could cause such turmoil?? LOL!! The new job is really fantastic! It's got one hell of a steep learning curve and I guess it'll take me a good year to grasp it all.... say those before me. So here I am again trying to get back into the swing of things. I knew things were starting to come together when the creative juices starting flowing again. Very liberating, I must say. Felt lonely without the crazy imaginative side of me yakking up a blue streak in my head... very lonely!! LOL!! Dan and I went over to the west coast of the island on Saturday. It's not very often that it's a blue sunny day over there. And Saturday was no different. Wonderfully gray with sea spray on the wind. It's wild and incredibly beautiful. We had a great day and I took so many shots I filled up my memory card. We walked on Wickaninnish Beach and Combers Beach. That's all. We didn't even go into Tofino. So my next few posts will be from there. This is a layered image. The first image is of the fishing trawler, the next of gulls, a curves layer, the bison hide image (again) for texture, and then a colour layer blended to soft light. You can view my gallery of images and calendar for sale at: cute but stupid . I'm slowly adding more to the site and if there is something in my portfolio you would like to purchase but is not available on my site just contact me and I'll make it available. I appreciate all visits and comments and thank you always... ;-)
