swirls

This is part of the lower falls on the Little Qualicum River. Fantastic falls and a beautiful walk to boot. I decided to use the Orton Effect on this one to really emphasize the lushness.

I know I've been MIA again... I do apologize but life out here on the island is fairly hectic. I must admit I've got a few projects on the go and am trying to set up something where I can sell some of my stuff online. Because of my inability to keep up with my p-blog I've been seriously considering closing my p-blog but after a little talk with Jen (of Jen's Eye) she's convinced me to post when I can. So that's what I'm going to try for now. ;-)

Hi Amy....I'm so glad you decided to keep showing us your fantastic photos as we'd all miss you desperately if you stopped.

If you are looking at trying to generate sales then it may encourage you Amy to keep up with AM3 if I tell you that I made my first 3 photos sales this month, 2 of which were through AM3 despite the fact that I don't currently do any marketing (one print and one license for printing in a commercial magazine).

Like you I'm considering settting up my own website to try and push things along but I'll link it back to AM3 and to a Flickr site that I've got.

@Ian Bramham: Trying to find somewhere is the trick. I thought I'd found one as this lab (MPIX) I'd tried prints fantastic results. Got my calendar back and am so very pleased with it. However, cute but stupid she is, it's an American lab (I thought it was Canadian) and the cost of shipping is a bit prohibitive for Canadian buyers. It would be great as it is linked/partnered with a great hosting site (Zenfolio) but ... I'm still debating about it. If they could set something up with a Canadian partner for the same quality of printing that would be so great. Sigh... and the search goes on. Thanks so much, Ian.. it's a great idea for linking to Am3. Truthfully never thought of that... duh! LOL!!!

I was so glad to see you were back I didn't tell you how much I liked this image. I'm a big fan of the Orton effect and this was the perfect choice. I have often wondered how to go about marketing my images on the internet but am clueless on how. I certainly encourage you as I think you are a cut above. I too am glad your not leaving, it would not be the same.
