I've got a thing for the old, rusty, and usually derelict. Maybe it's because I'm on my way to that state of being. LOL

@Michael Rawluk: You're a funny man Michael!! By the way, I'm not getting your link with your comments. You might want to fix that, eh?
I thought that you were leading in to another husband bashing.=) This is an excellent photo. I love the old cars and you did a great job on this one. I like the headlight in contrast with the red.

@Gary: HAH!! Fooled ya!! Thanks Gary... (FYI, I do love my old guy.)
Great shot and wonderful framing Amy! Great capture of the texture of the weathered paint.

Great texture: contrast of chrome vs. eroding red paint. Terrific!

Les vieilles automobiles sont très photogéniques. Excellent détail

@Lorraine: We're like wine... or is that whine? LOL
Very nice Amy. I like the processing on this. Was it HDR?
6 Dec 2007 2:58pm
@Roberta: No HDR. Still can't get the CS2 one to work how I want it to. This was just some diffuse glow, levels, hue/sat, noise, and curves. Thanks girl!!
yo cutes--what's going on pal ??
how did you get a shot of my trusty carriage up close ??
nice work done on this baby,or was how it came out of the can, man..??

@bronzebilly u.k.: I did some of my own trickery.. diffuse glow, noise, levels, curves, saturation. Have 2 more queued up. I was thinking about you when I was working on that old boot image... BWAHAHAHAHA!!
Haha, naaaaah, don't say that. I think it's that the rust makes for really neat textures.

Makes me think of my Grandfather's old pick-up (I think it was a Harvester). It was blue, but the paint was faded just like this one is. Such a great pickup...my sister used to pretend it was boat surrounded by sharks...Jaws had just come out that summer, I think. Thanks for the memories!

Seems you're looking for old stuff for photography ;) Great framing here and color is absolutely wonderful.
6 Dec 2007 6:23pm
very particular shot...well done...i like this old atmpsphere...important red and white contrast...

Love the way older & rusty things are so photogenic and how age emphasizes character, mind you not only to things but also people... ;)

Superlative image yet again, and very well said. I heartily agree with you, and I love what you’ve done here. I like to joke about how substantial grey cells of mine have died with the passing of years, and I have more than a faint suspicion it’s more than a joke sometimes. ;)

Nice old rusty car, love the red colour too, excellent angle!
7 Dec 2007 3:13am
I'm already there too! :) Great shot. I love the composition of this.
7 Dec 2007 3:17am
A rather striking shade of rusted red. Nicely composed, too. :)
7 Dec 2007 3:20am
Excellent composition, great rustic red tones. Newer headlight than the aged vehicle. Great shot.
7 Dec 2007 3:27am
splendid framing and textures. did you crank up the saturation, or was it really that wonderfully red?
7 Dec 2007 3:32am
@Mindy: I did crank up the saturation... and few other little tricks as well. Thanks a lot, eh! ;-)
Your technique is great! Love the treatment, love the subject.
